A great, great golf club. Strong friendships and camaraderie. Amazing staff. Beautiful weather. Fun tournaments. These are the things that come to my mind when I think about Bend Golf Club. I am truly grateful that our club is an excellent place to escape to and get away from all the craziness. The expansion of outdoor dining is fun, and I am optimistic that it will be a permanent addition and not just a COVID-19 workaround. While Deschutes County returns to “High Risk” on Friday (5/7) allowing us to resume indoor dining, still feel free to enjoy the additional tables outside to grab a quick bit to eat or enjoy a refreshing beverage.
By the time you are reading this, the new #10 tee box is open for play and we are getting closer on the bunkers. Please continue to read the weekly course updates from Scott and his team as they are keeping us all apprised of the current status, as well as reminding us of some “dos” and “don’ts” while out on the course.
Speaking of “gentle reminders,” please bear in mind that the COVID restrictions and mask requirements seem to change on a weekly (or sometimes daily) basis. Your club and management are doing their best to work through the restrictions and make sure that Bend Golf Club does not get fined or even shut-down. Presently, you must wear a mask when you are indoors and not seated at your dining table, regardless of whether you and those around you have been vaccinated. This could change at any time to be less restrictive, but it is what we are stuck with right now. And be kind – please do not ask your fellow members whether they have been vaccinated. This is their private medical information – if someone wants to volunteer the information to you, that is fine, but I ask that you refrain from putting someone on the spot.
I want to end by thanking you all for your continued support – through purchases from the golf shop, small group dining, take-out, use of Mulligans, game-playing in the athletic area, etc. Go out and enjoy your club!
