MGA: May 2021

Your MGA board hosted a successful new golf members welcome Tuesday afternoon on April 20. Present were your MGA board, our golf professional staff, a tournament committee representative, our handicap chairman, a representative from all six men’s golf groups, along with Jeff Keller and Erik Mettille. Christie was pouring the beer donated by 10 Barrel Brewing.

A special thanks goes out to everyone who participated in the well-attended qualifying rounds for the 2021 Deschutes Cup. Congratulations to our selected team members Andy West, Brandon Kearney, Clare Langford, Colin Morrison, Dave Borkowski, Eric Knapp, Jim Bradbury Jr, Jim Gilmore, Joel Rychard, Kevin Riley, Larry Patterson, Lindsay Wallace, Matt Muralt, Nate Wilson, Patrick Doyle, Riley Billings, Rob Nichols, Ryan Crownover, Scott Shaw, Tim Booher, Tim Cecil, Travis Davis, Travis McDermott, William Cosgrove, Brad Patrick (Assistant Captain), and Mark Garcia (Captain)

We are planning an outdoor meeting that will likely include hors d’oeuvres and some beverage options. In accordance with the Deschutes County COVID-19 requirements, the meeting will have a capacity of 100 MGA members. We will continue to monitor the COVID-related requirements for social gatherings and will make adjustments as necessary to this event.

Your board is currently processing information from the survey we sent out.  Thank you all for completing the survey, we received 298 responses.

The amendments to our MGA bylaws were approved by our members and met the Bylaw criteria for approval.

During May we have the ABCD Blind Draw event on Saturday May 8 and the Memorial Day Member Tournament on Monday May 31. Look for our MGA Member Guest Tournament “The Egan” invitations that are currently being mailed out to the MGA members. Our Match Play event will start June 3 so be sure to register online before June 2.

Some of you may have noticed our MGA page under the golf tab in the BGC members web page is missing. We are putting the finishing touches on our new MGA page which should be launched along with the new BGC web page in May.
