Happy days are here again! The sun is shining (most of the time), the golf course is shaping up for playing again any day now, athletic/tennis/pickleball/pool areas have re-opened, and food and beverage are back in full swing. Things look a little different as we continue to abide by mask-wearing and social distancing, but I know I have really enjoyed seeing familiar faces and friends back in and around the clubhouse. I am also looking forward to daylight saving time, and gaining that extra bit of sunlight in the afternoons and evenings to let us know the golf season is so close.
March also brings us to the end of the club’s fiscal year, and I am pleased to report we are in a good position. Thank you to the finance committee for all of its hard work building next year’s budget – I truly appreciate all that you do. By now you have received the update from our GM regarding next years’ dues and initiation fees, as well as a rundown of some of the capital projects for the next fiscal year. The great news is we are in a position to make some fun improvements, without any assessment, and look to replenish our short- and long-term capital funds. We are also so close to reaching our golf membership maximum, so if you know anyone on the fence, the time to act is now. Who would have thought a handful (or two) of years ago we would be in this position, but it genuinely puts a smile on my face.
The board and I are looking forward to a great golf season and a strong fiscal year. I cannot wait to see how the changes to Hole 10 and Hole 11 turn out, and we will be playing them in no time. So, until next month, go out and enjoy some spring activities, some corned beef and cabbage, spring break and (fingers crossed) some great March golf!
