Slowly but surely, COVID-related restrictions are easing as we look forward to golf season! We hope you saw the recent announcement that the club’s golf simulator is again available to help you scrape the winter rust off your game. You can reserve time on it by going to the “Court Times” tab on the club’s website.
Your MGA Board has prepared a membership survey, which will be sent to all adult male BGC members in March. It will contain questions on topics ranging from your interest in tournaments and other competitive events to how we can improve our communications with our members. We hope you’ll take a few minutes to give us your thoughts on how the MGA can help improve your overall golf experience at BGC.
Our head golf professional, Monte Hanson, has hit the ground running. We’ve quickly established a solid working relationship with him through his attendance at our monthly board meetings and collaboration on such projects as our 2021 event schedule. The schedule includes new events, such as the 27-Hole Championship, and the return of old favorites, such as Friday afternoon nine-hole twosome mixers.
First up on this year’s schedule will be LGA/MGA Masters on April 10. Thanks to Monte, we’re tweaking the format of our traditional kickoff event, which we hope will make it even better. Please mark your calendars and join us – you can sign up now through ForeTees on the club website!
Finally, in recognition of ongoing COVID-related restrictions and concerns, we’re postponing the annual MGA spring kickoff meeting, which we hope can be held by the end of May. Whenever we can schedule it, we’ll try to make the meeting as enjoyable and informative as possible, especially for our 10 (and counting…our club continues to grow!) new MGA members. In the meantime, we hope you stay healthy, stay safe and are looking forward to a great 2021 season.
May the snow continue to fall in the Cascades and help fill Wickiup Reservoir, as this is our primary source for keeping our golf course green this summer.
