The Ladies Golf Association (LGA) ended the 2020 golf season Oct. 28 with a fun 9-hole par 3 event, including a tasty beverage served after four holes. Thank you, Drew!
Our annual closing meeting followed that event, with the awarding of Most Improved Golfer to Shannon Basada. Congratulations, Shannon. Your name will go on the trophy kept in the downstairs case. Other awards and recognition followed. The outgoing board was recognized and thanked for providing opportunities for fun amidst a pandemic and episodic smoke. The 2020-21 LGA board members were installed by Kay Miller, including the following:
- Nancy Eldredge, president
- Barb Wehrle, vice president
- Beth Whitney, secretary
- Debbie Kerr, treasurer
- Debbi Smith, 18-hole golf governor
- Joanne Christensen, assistant 18-hole golf governor
- Patty Wiseman, 9-hole golf governor
- Janice Murrell, assistant 9-hole golf governor
- Phyllis Wallace, hospitality
- Sylvia Collins, social
On Oct. 27, 24 women and two men attended a memorial for Martha Weaver on 16 tee, where two trees were planted in her memory. The group shared fond memories and enjoyed a toast.
The new board is already working on the 2021 golf schedule, along with a survey for all women golf members and an updated orientation manual for new LGA members.
We are hopeful that next summer promises sunny weather and fewer COVID-19 restrictions.
