November comes with another stretch of great weather. As I look back at the year and the challenges, I can look back and say with confidence that we did it together. We were able to play throughout the year, with raised cups, then cups that moved on the flagstick, to finally real golf!
I say “we” because our athletic and tennis members supported us and continue to come back. Everyone supported our restaurant by using takeout and since we opened back up, we have been very busy. Everyone continued to support the rules we have to abide by, even though we all have to wear masks when working out and throughout the building.
I say “we” because we have 52 new golf members YTD, more than we have had in many years. All of them welcomed by our hospitality designees, Bill Ross, Phyllis Wallace, Karen Stanard and Scott Hakala, ensuring that our new members get off on the right foot.
I say “we” as I’ve seen my team work many six-day weeks, Christie in Mulligans and upstairs, Margaret in the pro shop, Chef Darrin with one less person, and Scott delivering a golf course that certainly doesn’t play like we had 10,000 more rounds than last year. We all worked together to implement new restrictions for cleaning, spacing, and interacting with each other.
I say “we” as everyone adapted to no shotguns, a few missing tournaments and being flexible to understanding the demand we had on golf this year with school and work restrictions. Truly a memorable year, but one that we can all look back on with all the difficulties, we can be proud of the that we got through it together.
One of the difficulties that we had was bringing our guests. We did not have a safe option, then it was after 2 p.m. and of course many of our regular guests were not comfortable traveling. As a result, the board has made the decision to extend unused passes into next year. Secondly, our 5-pack prices will be at the same price as last year — $50/round or $250 for five. Please email Karen to verify your pass counts if you are not sure.
This December, we will not be able to have our traditional Dickens Dinner, but we will have a four-course Christmas dinner with wine flights and week-long specials in the pro shop.
Last, we welcome our new board officers:
- Tami MacLeod, President
- Steve Sheppard, Vice President
- Bill Rich, Treasurer
- Jack Bieber, Secretary
Thanks for all your support this year.
