We are feeling the heat of summer and watching the mountains lose all signs of snow. It’s nice to actually experience a normal event during these uncertain times. I always enjoyed the transition from summer to fall with the return of school and football. Unfortunately, this pandemic that has rocked our region since March has decided to continue causing havoc for the foreseeable future.
Your club will continue to strive to create the best possible experience while following state, county and CDC guidelines designed to protect employees, members, and guests. Please continue to follow the posted guidelines and enjoy the club amenities. There is no question the impact of the pandemic has changed behavior. I encourage all members to act responsibly and courteously toward other members, guests, and staff.
We are actively seeking volunteers to serve a three-year term on the board. We have three positions to fill with an election in September. If you are interested in helping to chart the course for your club, this is the time to raise your hand and express interest. Please make your interest known by contacting Jeff Keller, General Manager, or Suzanne Sampson, Director of Elections.
We ended the first quarter (April-June) with revenue $279,000 below plan and expenses $298,000 below plan. By suspending monthly contributions to the short-term and long-term capital accounts and putting a hold on capital projects, we have minimized the drain on operating cash. We have completed a new operating budget for the remainder of the fiscal year and will share financial progress as we move forward.
The F&B results for the moth of June show member sales including Mulligans/Beverage Cart are on plan. Banquet revenue was off $30,000 (6% of plan) in the month. So, thanks to members for your continued support. We are hopeful the banquet business will return, but have used a pessimistic estimate given the current guidelines.
Enjoy the rest of the summer, stay healthy and be nice.
