Last month I saw some sharp increases mostly in the beef department. Our top sirloin steaks jumped up 85% from two weeks prior. They have recently dropped in price, but still about 55% higher than normal. Luckily, I was proactive and purchased three cases prior. Flat Irons and beef shoulder tender (teres majors) remained around the same normal price, quite possibly just a 5% increase over last year. Ribeyes and beef tenderloin are still remarkably high.
