April 29, 2020, was supposed to be Opening Day for LGA play. Alas, we are still observing social distancing and the no-gathering guidelines set by our governor. The better we are at limiting the spread of COVID-19, the sooner we will get back to the LGA normal schedule of play. Emily Anderson, BGC Golf Pro, has cancelled all tournaments and gatherings until July 1. We will re-evaluate the COVID-19 situation in late May.
Therefore, the 55th Annual Ladies Invitational has been cancelled for 2020. It will be back next year, better than ever. As for the 9-hole Visitation, 18-Hole Guest Day, and our opening day with lunch and general meeting, they are being postponed as well. I will keep you posted about when these events and weekly plays will resume. Celebration points, Eclectic, Birdie Tree and Chip-ins will start when weekly play begins.
The good news is that we have a beautiful golf course and wonderful weather that we are able to enjoy. I have heard from several ladies that they have played more rounds of golf in February, March, and April 2020 than in any year before.
Please continue to be respectful of others, by social distancing. This helps us all stay healthy.
