I can’t tell you how pleased I am with our new head golf professional, Emily Anderson Stewart. Our golf experience will move up several notches, including planning, follow through, and communication. I have full faith in Emily. We have a lot to get done and we will be working closely to make sure we get our systems and procedures in place. The MGA and LGA are already working closely together on next year’s schedule. This improved communication about dates should aid everyone’s summer planning. We’ll provide a hard copy of the schedule in addition to getting it all on Foretees and the website.
As we move into October, I’d like to remind everyone of our reciprocals around the state. In Portland, we have Columbia Edgewater, Tualatin Country Club, and Royal Oaks. In Eugene, we have Shadow Hills and in Walla Walla, it’s the Walla Walla Country Club. Just call the pro shop to arrange a tee time.
Fall is a great time to get back into using those other parts of the club that add value to your membership. Don’t forget to use our weight and cardio facilities (there’s some new equipment here and there), play some tennis or pickleball, and of course the golf simulator. Tee times for the simulator are located on the “Court times” tab in Foretees. We like to encourage multiple players so everyone can get time to play.
We are working on the cart barn and we should see construction on the building over the next week. In addition, we are building a small shelter to protect our maintenance equipment from the weather.
As a reminder, our dining facilities will change to winter hours soon. Generally that will mean Wednesday through Saturday from 11 to close. As we get closer, you will all see signage and emails.
Thanks for all your patience this year. The owners of Foretees flew out this last week and we had some very pointed conversations. Our systems will get better.
