General Manager: September 2019

September is one of my favorite months. We have great days and cool nights and still a lot of time to play and enjoy the outdoors. August wound down with our BGC Club Championships and now we look forward to the Pinecone Classic, our Ladies’ Member-Guest, and the Men’s Member-Member tournament.

The tennis courts will be closed for a few days while Neil and Margaret get the court stripes done correctly. If you haven’t been in the tennis/athletic center for a while, a fresh coat of paint has been added to the walls along with new signage to dress up the area.

Just around the corner is our election for the board of directors. Meet the Candidates night is Sept. 11 and I’d encourage you all to participate and learn more about each of the candidates. Their names and qualifications are on this handy reference sheet.

Secondly, as a member-owned club, we need your inclusion and participation in the committees. Athletic, Grounds, Finance and the Mouse (Membership/House) committees all need your ideas on how to get better. Please reach out to me at to talk about your areas of interest.

Our Jazz Nights have been even more successful than last year and I thank Neil, Christie and Darrin and their respective teams for the effort to make them memorable. We look forward to more new artists and groups as we roll into the winter.

The cart barn is well underway and you will continue to see progress as we move forward. We also have ADA compliance for our driveways that we will work on over the next few weeks. I’ll keep you all in the loop on timing and repair dates.

Last, thanks for all you do to make this club second to none. We have a come a long way over the last few years and the best is yet to come.
