Golf Pro: June 2019

The season is in full swing and Scott and his crew have the course in outstanding condition, so please get out and enjoy the great weather and conditions. The new tee on 11 and 18 is looking great — we should open 18 tee very soon and hope to have 11 open by the first of July if not before.

The golf shop is full of great new merchandise, from bags to clubs and clothing. There is much to choose from. We will also be hosting another demo day with Titleist on Thursday, June 13 from 1–5 p.m. They will have all their latest equipment to sample and fit. The new TS drivers are the hottest drivers out there and they have four models to choose from so come on out and test drive some new sticks.

Junior Golf will start on Tuesday afternoon June 18. We will break the kids down into groups based on age and ability level. There will be 18, 9, 6, and 3-hole divisions. Each group will show at their designated times and receive 45 minutes of instruction and then go play. We will meet seven Tuesdays culminating with the Junior Club Championship August 13. Cost for members is $100 and if your juniors have a friend that would like to play, non-members will be $120. We will definitely need parents to walk with the younger kids so please plan on attending and walking at least a couple times during the season. Please call the golf shop if you have any questions. It’s going to be great fun!

Finally, speed of play is always an issue. All it takes is one slow group to really put a damper on the day for the entire field. So please be aware of your position on the course and keep pace with the group in front of you. If you fall behind, please play ready golf. Ready golf is simply playing when you are ready to go. For example, if you are the first to putt out on the green, go to the next tee and tee off while the rest of your group is finishing — especially if you have to hike back to the blue or black markers. When you are out on the fairway and you are at your ball, but not away, you should go ahead and play if you are not in anyone’s way. Thanks for your help with this issue and hope to see you soon.
