MGA: April 2019

Maybe, just maybe, mother nature will grace us with some sunshine and above freezing temperatures at night so we’ll lose all the white stuff sprawled across our golf course!

We may actually be able to hold our first two MGA golf events of the year this month, the Bend Masters and the Spring Invitational Best Ball Tournament. We’ve published numerous announcements about each of these tournaments but if you aren’t presently aware of it, visit our ForeTees Event Page to sign up. If you’re still using your initial login, you may be asked to change your password. Once you do, it’s as easy as one, two, three, and it beats the heck out of filling out paperwork.  Hopefully, those days are gone forever!  Take a look at it and grab a partner to play in this, our first golf event of the year. If you don’t have a partner, the shop will help you find one.

Friday, April 12, we have two special events:

  • Par 3, 2-Man Scramble Contest, 3 p.m.
  • Draw for Masters pro for your team. Food and beverage provided.

The Friday evening festivities for this event are always fun, with camaraderie and a competitive spirit among participants.

As a reminder, the Bend Masters is Saturday, April 13. It is a 2-man best ball 18-hole tournament. Cost is $100 per team. You can register for this event online or in the Golf Shop. Cutoff for final entry is Thursday, April 11 at 5 p.m. If we’re unable to play 18, we will adapt it to play on the back nine.

The MGA kickoff meeting for the year will take place that same Saturday, April 13, at 9 a.m.  To entice you to attend, a delectable breakfast will be served.

The meeting will include:

  • An overview of the 2019 MGA budget,
  • New initiatives the board is pursuing,
  • 2019 MGA tournament schedule,
  • An Open forum for discussion and Q&A.

After the breakfast meeting, there will be time to hit the range before the 11 a.m.  shotgun start.

Our second tournament, the Spring Invitational, is an 18-hole, 2-player best ball event, that includes lunch and free beer provided by Immersion Brewery. This tournament is limited to the first 60 teams and takes place April 27.

Entry fees:

  • Member-Member Team  $120
  • Member-Guest Team       $135
  • Guest-Guest Team            $150

Entry deadline is April 25. Additional information on handicap adjustments, format, and flight criteria are on the website.
