Belated September Greetings!
So many events have taken place since August, it’s hard to know where to begin.
Unless you’ve been absent from all communication, you are already well aware Amy Anderson is our new Club Champion. Congratulations once again, Amy, for a stellar two day tournament score of 142. Congratulations as well to Madeline Henderson, our 9-hole Club Champion. She may be down south quite a bit, but she certainly hasn’t forgotten how to play Bend.
Member/member tournament champions, Barb Gahr and Jane Lin, had a hard fought battle, but emerged victorious. Congratulations!
The Pinecone Classic was a huge success. Decorations throughout the clubhouse and on the course set the tone for a very festive tournament. From the food to the raffle to the hilarious horse race, it was seamless. A big thank you to the committee—they obviously put a lot of time, thought and effort into making it a tournament to remember. Congratulations to all the winners, but specifically the overall low gross champions, Amy Anderson (getting a bit repetitive) and Shannon Kennedy, and the overall low net champions, Nancy Hakala and Shan Wattenburger.
Don’t forget to sign up for our final mixer of the season, starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 26. Sign up is available through the pro shop or through the online tee-time booking system. The format is a four-person, 2-best-ball shamble. It’s hard to believe the season is winding down, but this is our last 18-hole mixer for 2018. Given the later tee time, our monthly meeting is scheduled for 8:30 am. Please try to attend both!!
I want to report that our dues increase, which we voted on back in May, was rescinded at our August meeting. I apologize for the panic—all is well! On that happy note, enjoy the rest of the month.
