With the August heat upon us, it is nice to look forward to cooler temperatures and what I consider the best time of year to live and play in Central Oregon!
The fall is an important and busy time of the year for the golf course maintenance department. Fall aeration practices help maintain and improve turf health after a busy season of golf. What we do this fall directly relates to our course conditions next spring and summer. Green, collar, and approach aeration will take place Monday, Sept. 10 and Tuesday, Sept. 11. Performing this practice while the turf is actively growing and using a much smaller tine than last year will provide for a surprisingly quick recovery. We appreciate your patience and understanding and look forward to great fall course conditions.
In addition to these normal fall practices, we will begin building the relocated 11th tee complex due to the sale of the land adjacent to #10. Trees have already been removed and we are currently in the planning stages for this exciting project which will include changes to the 18th tee as well. Our goal is to have the new tee complex ready for play next spring, providing another improvement to this great golf course.
Thanks for all your support and see you on the course!
