Golf Update

Summer is here and the weather and course are both spectacular so get on out and enjoy some great golf. It has been a bit crazy here in the golf shop with the departure of some key staff but we are working through it just fine. I hope to be able to announce some additions in the near future.

We have the Men’s Member-Guest July 12–14, so the course will be closed those three days to any other play. We are also hosting Deschutes Cup on the 10th, that will be a 1:30 shotgun so we will have a 8:30 shotgun that morning for anyone that wants to play. Please sign up on line or give us a call I the shop if you would like to play that morning. Next will be the Ladies Invitational July 31–Aug. 1. They will have morning shot guns and times later in the day will be determined based on the size of the field, we will update you as we get closer to the event.

I would like to repeat a couple requests from previous newsletters and we really appreciate your help. First is the use of golf carts, if you are on the lease program or are just simply renting a cart for the day we would please ask that you share the cart whenever possible if some one else in the group is riding. The cart lease does not mean you have a cart to yourself but more specifically a seat in a cart. We do not have enough club owned carts to issue one per person with a cart lease especially on a busy day not to mention the extra wear and tear on the course. Secondly is the dress code. Please tell your family members and guests about the dress code before they come to the course. Again, thanks in advance for your help.

We continue to have new merchandise rolling in for both men and women. If you would like something we do not carry in stock we would be happy to special order it. Also, if there is a certain manufacturer that you like please let us know and we would be happy to take a look at it and see if it makes sense to being into the shop. Hope to see you soon.

I would like to repeat a suggestion that I have made several times during the last few years. For those of us who rent a cart on a per round basis, we are currently charged $18.00. If two of us share a cart, we are each charged $18.00. This policy does not encourage cart sharing. Why not create a shared cart fee of for example $26-28 ($13-14 each)? A similar reduced fee could be charged for a per round player who rides with a member who has a cart lease. Just a thought.

Thanks, Ted! Your suggestion has been shared with John.
